We also work closely with all the Newquay Church of England Clergy and are providing a temporary home for Newquay Methodist Church on Sundays as they wait for their new Church to be built.
We walk to St Michael's Church for Harvest, Christmas, annual Eucharist and Leavers' services. Revd Jane Kneebone from St Michael's Church is our chaplain and Revd Jem Thorold, they can be contacted through school about admissions, baptism, confirmation or pastoral support.
Our Christian ethos is about what we do and why we do it. Our ambition for the school is focussed on the development of the whole child as well as achieving high academic standards. The Christian character and values of the school have a significant impact on the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all learners.
As part of their studies, pupils investigate what is special about our town and our country and also explore what it means to be part of a multi-cultural modern British society. We teach the British values of equality, diversity, democracy and respect for all throughout our curriculum, alongside Christian values such as Friendship, Compassion, Creativity, Peace and Hope. Christian values are made explicit and are deeply embedded in the daily life of the school.
Worship is central to the life of the school and it takes place in a range of forms and settings. We work closely with St. Michael’s church to enable our children to experience traditional Anglican worship but also explore fresh expressions of worship, allowing pupils to be creative.
As a Church School, we try to live out our Christian beliefs in all that we do.
