In line with government guidance our school is working towards a wider opening. Currently, we are open to key worker’s children, vulnerable children and invited year groups.

Distance Learning Information

In this section of Tolcarne's Class Page you will find information about the opportunities for Distance Learning that we are currently providing.

We mainly use our Google Classroom platform to provide activities for learning online. This is a system that the children are familiar with as we have used it regularly in class over recent years. Please see instructions on how to log on below. Most children will log in using the details on the 'how to' guidance. We have also attached these into the front covers of reading records and exercise books when the children have been in school.

If you are struggling to access google classroom, please message me but in the meantime, I will keep this page updated with enough to keep you going throughout the week.

A good place to start is the 'Suggested Timetable / Activities' for each week. This includes an overview of a suggested timetable and some resources you could use to help. I update this weekly so please check it each week as some of the activities and resources will differ.

Please can I take this opportunity to emphasise that all of this is suggested, flexible and optional. Please don't put pressure on yourselves or your children to replicate the school day at home. Try to use this time to spend time having fun, connecting with each other and sharing some life skills along the way e.g. baking, gardening or even painting!

In addition to the learning posted please see some useful information and resources below and continue to...

  • Read with you children daily and quiz on accelerated reader where possible. If you do not have books at home there are plenty of websites which have a free library of children's books including EPIC which each child in Tolcarne has a log in for.
  • Practice the spellings which are applicable to your child's age range from the spelling list below. We find the Look, say, cover, write, check method to be effective, however you can find lots of additional advice here.
  • Learn number bond facts and times tables with you child.

If you require any more information or support about the information above, please message me on Dojo.
