In line with government guidance our school is working towards a wider opening. Currently, we are open to key worker’s children, vulnerable children and invited year groups.
The Bishops C of E Learning Academy

The Bishops' C of E Learning Academy

Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd June - Whole School Learning

This Monday and Tuesday our staff are completing training in preparation for the wider reopening of The Bishops’. Due to this training they will have limited capacity to post and respond to your distance learning online. For that reason, I have decided to post all the work for these two days in one place on our website. Teachers will still be looking at all of your wonderful leaning but please be aware that you may not get a response until Wednesday. Also, as more of our teachers will be in school looking after the children of Key Workers it may be a different teacher who has a look and posts a comment to you! They are all really looking forward to getting to see work from a wider range of classes!

As always, our distance learning is designed to be flexible and optional. If you want to complete it all then brilliant, if you don’t complete any then that’s also fine! I have intentionally posted more than I think you will need just in case. However if you’re feeling very keen and would like some more please use the resources from BBC Bitesize and Oak National Academy below:

Also if you have had enough of using electronic devices please don't forget our unplugged ideas:

Writing Competition:

This half term our school Christian Value is Courage. I would like you to write about a person you feel has shown courage! This could be a famous person, a historical figure, a friend or family member or even yourself! Remember to write a draft first, edit it to make it the best it can be and then post your final polished piece! Typing is lovely but I have to say I am missing seeing your beautiful handwriting so if you can had write it that would be amazing! I might even share with the Pen Queen!

This piece of work will be this week’s Facebook Competition too so please post on there too!

Watch the video ‘Something Fishy’:

Use this an inspiration for your own piece of writing. It could be a first person recount from the girl’s perspective. You could write your own story where an everyday object turns into something special. Or you might write a poem about the magical underwater land. Be as creative as you can!

Starters for STEM are 10 activities that parents can use at home to help children develop their science, technology, engineering and maths skills. Theses activities are easy to resource and provide children with the stimulus to talk about the world around them. If you see a link you can explore how to extend these activities, you will need to sign up, for free, to access these materials. Don’t forget to share your work on social media #ScienceFromHome

Please complete some of the wonderful suggested activities around this half term’s value of Courage.

This Sunday was Pentecost. Please research what that means and compete the sheet attached or learn all about it as you colour in these beautiful illustrations.
