Home learning Update:
We are aware that many pupils and their families are currently self-isolating. During this time class teachers will be posting work online and preparing home learning packs for pupils who are well enough to work at home. Please refer to your child’s Class Page on the website for more information about how to access these materials.
For those of you unable to access materials, online home learning packs will be available to collect from reception from Thursday morning. If you are having difficulty accessing or collecting these materials contact your class teacher on Class Dojo or reception for support on 01637876317.
Our Easter Service - Friday 27th March
As you know today should have been our Easter Service at St Michael's Church. Of course it is not possible for us all to be there today, however it felt more vital than ever that we still all join together in worship, thanks and hope. Rev. Lee and Rev. Jem have kindly shared a blessing with us and some of our staff also wanted to share a prayer. If you would like to join us in worship at home please do, you could even share a photo or video on Class Dojo. The full service can be found here.
There are some prayers that we thought children may find comforting. Along with our school prayer, school blessing, a hymn and clips from last year's service.
Newquay Town Council have prepared this document to help refer people in need to local services. This is an incredibly difficult time for everyone, however we are part of a wonderful community and if you need support please ask!
A Welcome from our Head Teacher:
I am delighted to welcome you to The Bishops’ Church of England Learning Academy website which I hope will provide insight into our vibrant, creative and nurturing school located on the southerly edge of Newquay in Cornwall. Our mantra is for our school community to, ‘Have faith to Belong, Believe, Aspire and Achieve’ in everything we do.
Our foundation is in the church and we strive for all our children to flourish: "If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it would move. Nothing is impossible". Matthew 17:20.
We are committed to ensuring that our children thrive during their time at The Bishops' and that they are instilled with our Christian values of perseverance, compassion, respect, forgiveness, trust and courage to be ready for whatever challenges come their way.
At Bishops’ the children come first, this is reflected in everything we do. We believe in inspiring pupils to move their cutting edge of learning into their 'challenge zone' and become a 'boss of their own learning' through our staff as facilitators, teachers and negotiators to encourage and challenge the children to be life-long learners.
