Olympic Day

On Thursday 17th June, over 100 children from the junior end of the school competed in a variety of events at the Newquay Schools Partnership Olympic event. The school had been given the country of Chile as part of the event and the children looked great in the white t-shirts, Chile stickers and carrying their Chile flags.

The sports included Athletics, Futsal, Tag Rugby, Indoor bowling, Climbing, Archery and Trampolining, Striking and Fielding, Primary dance, Dodgeball and Handball. Some of these sports the children had never competed in but gave it their best and represented the school in a great way. The adults who supported them said that the children were a credit to the school, showed great resilience and sportsmanship.

Special mentions must go to Jonathon from Lusty Glaze who gained a silver medal in the Year 5/6 75m sprint, the Year 3/4 Futsal team who finished 3rd overall and the Primary dance troupe who also finished 3rd.

Not all children could attend but those children who stayed in school also enjoyed a day of sport and worked together well with children they might not normally work with. They took part in dodgeball, dance and relay/obstacle races.

Well done to all of you - you did our school proud!!
